ASP’s Fundraising Mission
The essence of the American Spirit Pageant is the “AMERICAN SPIRIT”. Innate in the “American Spirit” is the desire to help one another. As a society we succeed economically, militarily and politically because of our competitive nature. But, we LEAD because of our compassion and willingness to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
American Spirit Pageants is proud to be the only national pageant system to incorporate charitable fundraising into the judged competition. Money that is raised goes to American Spirit Charities, a 501(c) (3) company. American Spirit Charities determines where those donations are best spent. This year all money raised through the pageant for American Spirit Charities will go to the HAVLife Foundation, a wonderful charity that funds opportunities for “at risk” children to participate in the arts and athletic programs.
The fundraising category of the competition accounts for 10% of a Contestant’s total score. Some Contestant’s have the connections to raise a lot of money with very little effort. While we applaud any effort to raise money for worthy causes, our Contestant’s should not be judged on their “connections” but on their desire to help and their ability to do what it takes to accomplish that goal. Therefore, the following rules apply with respect to this category:
A Contestant gains full credit under this category if she raises a total of $5000 in a manner compliant with the rules below. Of course American Spirit Pageants, and our selected charity, would be more than happy to accept more. But, there will be no extra credit awarded towards a Contestant’s total score beyond that $5000.
A Contestant or their family member may contribute no more than $1000 towards the $5000 total.
The total amount raised must come from at least ten different sources.
