Hobbies:I ENJOY hanging with my friends and having family time. I also enjoy taking walks with my 2 dogs Mandie and Licorice they are miniature schnauzers. I also am involved in my school in activities such as the recycling club I also play clarinet in our marching band and we also do marching season where we compete in field competitions. I also am getting ready to volunteer at the cedar rapids humane society and in the summer I will be doing some volunteer work in different parts of the hospital. And I also enjoy doing beauty pageants. I have done Miss teen Iowa and I just did American spirit pageant. I really enjoyed doing this and it was my first time doing them. I became Miss Teen Iowa state title holder for the American Spirit Pageant and I also won best interview so I am very proud of what I have done to this point since it was my first time doing any of it.
I also enjoy hanging out with my brother Austin we have a very close bond .
Recreation: I also enjoy running I do cross country and track at my school. I also enjoy soccer I played for the AYSO soccer league for as long as they would allow me. I also have a part time job in the winter and then in the summer I can work full time. I work at the amana colonial manor nursing home. I work with elderly people and boy do they enjoy seeing people every day. I also work at Aeropostal in Williamsburg I am the greeter there and a cashier as well.
Goals: I will be a senior in high school next year so I will graduate. So after I graduate I will be attending a 2 year college called Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I will start there and get a degree in a area that I can use so if I change my mind on what I want to do for my career then I will still have a degree to back me up. I am going to go to be a veterinarian or a orthodontist. I plan on going to a 4 year college after I am done at Kirkwoood. I would like to attend the University Of Iowa but we will see after I complete my 2 year program.
I also would like to stay active in my community and do any type of volunteer work that I can do or participate in activities to help the less fortunate children.
What Does American Spirit Pageant Mean To Me: It means to become a better person and to meet caring and wonderful women from all over the united states. It also means a way to build your self esteem as a woman and to build character in yourself. And to be able to speak in front of anyone and about anything. It also means that your representing your state and by doing this it should you how to be respectful caring open and be able to communicate in a effective manner to the public. And it also teaches character and what it takes to win in the top spot. And if you don’t win in the top five does not mean your a bad person it just helps you to learn and grow so in the future when doing pageants again you will only better yourself and help you in the areas that you need to improve. I personally only have done 2 pageants total and I feel I learned so much from this one and I have grown to be more grown up and learned that I need to help in my community as much as I can and to be involved in any way. I also have learned not to be so shy in front of the public and I also have learned that each and every one of us are all equal and we need to treat people in the way you want to be treated. I also think American spirit makes us a better woman especially for me since I am only a teen I learned to grow up more and realize the true facts of life and to take challenges that I never thought I would do. So in closing I really personally feel pageantry especially this one have done so much for me in every way possible and I am going to take that all in and use it in my future and for sure in my whole year of holding the state title for Miss Teen Iowa. I want to thank each and everyone for the experience of a lifetime I can not even begin to tell you all the people that need to be thanked but I am saying thank you to everyone. I personally want to thank all the judges and Charleen and Dennis these people were the best and there hard work they did and getting it all done in less than 4 months. THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the photographer Ben was so amazing and so AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS PAGEANT WAS SO MUCH FUN and for sure worth the drive. I hope I can do more pageants like this again. I really want to make a career I hope some day I can start modeling or having photo shoots I love to have pictures done and I would love someday in my life see if I have what it takes to maybe get my name and picture in a magazine or on billboards and I will use what I have learned from American Spirit Pageant in working on pursuing what I want in my future. The American spirit pageant was for sure the BEST it and the Havalife foundation is one of the neatest charities I have ever cam involved with and this charity that I am raising money for has made me realize that there are so many children and families that are less fortunate and for this American spirit made it possible to help families and children to have a dream that they never thought might happen. So for me I have learned by doing pageants of this type like the American spirit has made me grow to know if I can help in the community and help a charity like Havalife then I would be doing a good deed by raising money for such a WONDERFUL charity. So from this point and for the next year and beyond I am going to do as much as I can to participation anything I can do to volunteer my time and to represent my state title. And I hope I can do more pageants like the American Spirit because this pageant was well worth every minute and I met the most awesome people and there just like family and I want to represent a awesome company and that is the VanDerGinst Law and the American spirit Pageant..And I will take what I have learned and all the wonderful people I have met and for all the special people it took to put such a big and awesome event together in less than 4 months with me and to represent Miss Teen Iowa from now and forever.
