Introduction
The 2012 American Spirit National Pageant will be held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort April 4-7, 2012 Orlando, Florida. State Delegates will be chosen in one of two ways:
1. If there is a state pageant in the state you hope to represent, you must compete in and win that title in order to become the state delegate in your division at the national competition.
2. If there is not yet a state pageant scheduled in the state you hope to represent you may fill out the “At Large Application” to be considered for selection as an “At Large” Delegate to represent your division in the national competition.
Click on the appropriate State Link to see if your state has a state pageant. The American Spirit Pageants program is a wonderful way for young women to learn more about themselves and others, make new friends, build self confidence, gain greater social awareness and give back to the community. American Spirit Pageants offers these opportunities and so much more!
Our Mission is to emulate and epitomize the true “American Spirit”. We focus on the positive, energetic, never-say-die attitude that has made our country so great. The United States is a melting pot of different cultures. We celebrate our differences while finding the common ground the binds us all as Americans.
It is all about the Five “C”s:
Courage – Conviction – Compassion – Character – Charity
American Spirit Pageants is open to all applicants who fit the Eligibility requirements. We welcome newcomers to join and see how wonderful pageants can be!
The goal of our pageants is to teach the contestants that they are not in it to compete with each other, but to compete with themselves, in order to become the best version of themselves that they can. Contestants learn how to communicate effectively and speak comfortably on the issues about which they have strong feelings.
For all of those reasons physical beauty is not the only thing judged in American Spirit Pageants. Equally important is a contestant’s character. Character is evaluated in the pre-screening process and in the interview portion of our Pageants. Consideration is given to what a contestant does away from the Pageant as much as how they comport themselves at the Pageant.
Another important consideration in our judging criteria is compassion and a contestant’s willingness to help those less fortunate. Therefore, there is a fundraising component to our judging system, and fundraising is a primary goal of American Spirit Pageants.
