Thank you for your interest in a state directorship for American Spirit Pageants. We are very proud of our system and are very selective when it comes to choosing directors. Our directorships are not simply “for sale”. We must ensure that directors share our vision for the system and understand what it takes to make the state pageants viable and exciting. To that end, please review the information in our website so that you have an understanding of our mission before filling out the application.
Once you have reviewed our website please fill out the application below. After that, you will be interviewed via phone. If there is a mutual interest in proceeding further you shall be provided the “Franchise Agreement” for the state(s) in which you are interested. Upon execution and required payment you shall be deemed an official state director.
Pageant systems vary as to how state directorships are handled. We think we have struck upon the fairest way to ensure that the integrity of our system is not lost while still making it financially viable for state directors. Depending upon the size of the state franchise fees run between $500 and $2500 up front, with 10% of contestant registration fees to go to American Spirit Pageants when collected.
What does the state director get in return? As part of the American Spirit Pageant system our state directors receive a number of incentives and benefits. We supply you with your own state pageant website and Facebook pages which we can monitor for you or with you. We supply the crowns and sashes for your four winners (four divisions: Teen Miss, Miss, Ms. and Mrs.). We provide the national pageant destination which motivates contestants to participate in your state pageant. This year it is “Destination Disney”! We help you market for contestants. We provide you with the template and other key support to organize and produce your pageant. We help you guide your state Queens with respect to appearances and other media attention so as to grow your system from year to year.
What is expected of you as a state director? You would be required to hold a state pageant which would include all four divisions (Teen Miss, Miss, Ms. and Mrs.). Each state pageant would include the same judging categories, weighted in the same fashion as the national pageant (I.e., Interview, Swimsuit/fitness, evening gown and fundraising). Each state pageant would share the primary charitable platform of the national pageant. This year that platform is the HAVLife Foundation, which raises money for “at risk” children to have opportunities to participate in arts, academics and athletic programs. Each state director would have a great deal of discretion in how and when to hold their state pageants but would be required to follow a basic template. We want each director to be as creative as they like but we want to ensure that all pageants associated with American Spirit Pageants are of the highest quality and completely fair and above board.
